(August 25, 2016) – Dedicated to the elimination of homelessness based on the “housing first” model, Sacramento Self-Help Housing has been awarded a $10,000 grant from Century Housing. With a goal to raise $300,000 in charitable grant funding, Sacramento Self-Help Housing will use this grant to start an internal revolving fund that will allow for prompt payment of housing lease and service costs eligible for later reimbursement by public and private agencies.
Founded in 2000, Sacramento Self-Help Housing assists local homeless individuals and families – or those at risk of becoming homeless – to find and retain stable, affordable and permanent housing. In 2015 alone, Sacramento Self-Help Housing served 12,578 deserving individuals through their various housing programs.
