Anna is employed and a single mother of two. She has been working at the same place for several years now, and she makes enough money to pay rent and support her family. She had a two-bedroom apartment, with an 8-year-old daughter and a teenage boy. She was looking for a place with another bedroom for her son.
The issue that kept coming up for her was the fact that her credit was not perfect; there were some old things on the report that prevented her from obtaining a new place.
We gave her a few referrals; she took those and began her search. It was discouraging at first, but she stayed in close contact, letting us know what was happening. We became her cheering section, telling her to keep up the good work, and "you can do this". She kept the faith and persisted.
She called one morning and told us she had been accepted for a three bedroom, two bathroom house with a 2 car garage AND a garage door opener. She moved into her new place within about six weeks of her first contact with us. She and the children are very happy in their new home.
